Masterpiece has to offer a 1970 Chevelle SS 396 convertible for sale. The recipient of a frame-off restoration, this Chevelle is ready for spring and summer top down driving and car shows. The metal on this black cherry beast has been subjected to a beautiful restoration that involved great panel alignment and attention to detail. The car's classic panels are very solid, leading us to believe it was a clean, rust-free sheet metal when the first sheet of sand paper was laid on its body. The Chevelles gaps are better than average, featuring doors that operate with precision, hood and trunk that are centred in their respective openings and pliable weather stripping. Overall, this road-ready cruiser carries every indication that its high quality rebuild was a well-planned effort.

Not only did that high-profile success of the Chevelle earn GM big money, it also solidified the nameplate as part of Chevy's often romanticized 'golden era'. At the front of this Chevelle, a split grille hangs a prominent "SS" emblem between a small "CHEVELLE" script, chrome headlights and a polished bumper. Above the bumper is a domed Super Sport Cowl Induction hood anchors rebuilt hide-a-way wipers at the base of factory-tint glass that's seated in straight stainless frames. On each of the front fenders is the white-tinged "SS396" badges. At the back of the car, a second polished bumper hangs a standard Super Sport inlay between clear brake lights, a fresh "Chevelle by Chevrolet" trunk script and polished chrome exhaust tips.

Sit inside this classic wonder and you will feel as if you have slipped back into the 70’s. Featuring a host of fresh interior components, this convertible's incredible black interior is splendidly done. Its slick bucket seats are comfortable and show no signs of significant wear. In front of the bucket seats, a straight Super Sport dash hangs optional deluxe radio tagged Delco AM/FM. Below that dash, clean bright black carpet floats a curved Muncie shifter between color-keyed floor mats. At the sides of that carpet, door panels center classy stainless trim and "SS" emblems on bright handles and pliable armrests. In front of the driver, a brushed steering wheel laps a color-keyed column. And behind the passengers, the car's fully restored trunk is finished with a correct jack and full-size spare tire. There is only one addition to this period correct interior is the modern SunPro tachometer which is hanging below the correct dash.

While you are sitting in the driver’s seat turn the key and power up the era correct 396ci 350 Horsepower V8 and you can enjoy the sound and feel of Chevelles big Block engine. This 1970 Chevelle is powered by an era correct 396 big block that is producing 350 horsepower and 427 lbs/ft of torque. Certainly, more than of enough to smoke the rear tires. Backing up that big block power is a Muncie 4-Speed transmission and on to a twelve bolt posi-traction rear-end. This frame-off restored black cherry 1970 Chevelle convertible is optioned with a power top, AM/FM radio, Power steering, Power disc brakes, and a tilt steering column.

In 1970, this Chevrolet represented some of the best performance your money could buy. Currently, it represents one of the best investments on the muscle car market. Unique second generation Chevelles are a rare find.

"It has been two months to the day, since I took delivery of my '64 Studebaker. I am so happy to have her in my garage, in Albany, NY. My purchase experience with you and Masterpiece Vintage Cars was nothing short of "outstanding." As you know I am first time classic car buyer, and so I was very nervous purchasing a classic car sight unseen, some 1200 miles away in Indiana, and from a firm I had no previous knowledge of. Well, from the outset of my dealings with you, you made me feel comfortable talking to you. Thank you for patiently answering every one of my questions and for helping me understand every step of this process. You made it so easy! In summary the car (64 Studebaker Daytona) was exactly as you advertised and described to me. The photos on your website were spot on, absolutely no discrepancies with what was presented to me and then delivered to my home. The financials and transaction paperwork process went very smoothly and subsequently the registering and plating of my '64 Studebaker in New Your state took only 20 minutes. The shipment of new 'old classic car' to my home went perfectly. I do not have a single complaint. I could go on and on as to how pleased I am with my purchase of a classic Studebaker, however I have to get back to work. I will close by saying thank you so much for making my purchase such a smooth and great experience. I find myself looking at your website every day, looking to purchase another classic car from you. I have the classic car collectors bug, and you are the reason for it."
