If you are in the market for a classic station wagon, then you really should take a look at this one and read the interesting history behind it.

This wagon was purchased new and has stayed in the same immediate family since then. The husband purchased it for his wife to drive to work and we are told both cherished and kept it in tip-top shape with regular maintenance and always garaged when not in use. The wife passed away years later but her husband did not sell the car as so often happens. Instead, he kept it under cover in the garage and drove it three miles once each month to keep it running correctly and prevent the seals and related items from drying up. Eventually, he passed away and his granddaughter took possession of her grandparent’s pride and joy.

This is a nice wagon with mostly original paint that’s in better overall condition than the typical driver quality car. We have a big treasure trove of documents and receipts, it appears the owners saved every piece of paper and accounted for all the money spent on it, right down to the penny. You can read through this and actually follow the regular dealer inspections, maintenance schedules, every cent is written down with meticulous details. Some, but certainly not all of the receipts and documents are:

  • Original retail buyers order and invoice
  • Original owner manual
  • Maintenance log book
  • Owner warranty card
  • Original window sticker
  • Many dealer inspection receipts
  • Original Goodyear tire brochure

This was an expensive car when new due mostly to the extremely rare options as ordered. The window sticker is very close to what a Shelby GT500 Mustang listed for. The 428ci motor with 345HP, power disc brakes, and air conditioning puts a fifty-five percent bump in present collector value compared to a base version with standard motor.

It’s almost unheard of to find a nice wagon like this with all the unusual options plus the huge amount of receipts and documents from day one to the present. They show the amount of love and care bestowed upon this rare car.

This really cool wagon runs and drives perfectly due to the faithful maintenance regime from the day it left the showroom. It’s classified a ten passenger so you can take the entire family and several friends along. With that big and ultra-rare 428ci motor, it’s also one of the fastest classic station wagons they will ever be in.

"It has been two months to the day, since I took delivery of my '64 Studebaker. I am so happy to have her in my garage, in Albany, NY. My purchase experience with you and Masterpiece Vintage Cars was nothing short of "outstanding." As you know I am first time classic car buyer, and so I was very nervous purchasing a classic car sight unseen, some 1200 miles away in Indiana, and from a firm I had no previous knowledge of. Well, from the outset of my dealings with you, you made me feel comfortable talking to you. Thank you for patiently answering every one of my questions and for helping me understand every step of this process. You made it so easy! In summary the car (64 Studebaker Daytona) was exactly as you advertised and described to me. The photos on your website were spot on, absolutely no discrepancies with what was presented to me and then delivered to my home. The financials and transaction paperwork process went very smoothly and subsequently the registering and plating of my '64 Studebaker in New Your state took only 20 minutes. The shipment of new 'old classic car' to my home went perfectly. I do not have a single complaint. I could go on and on as to how pleased I am with my purchase of a classic Studebaker, however I have to get back to work. I will close by saying thank you so much for making my purchase such a smooth and great experience. I find myself looking at your website every day, looking to purchase another classic car from you. I have the classic car collectors bug, and you are the reason for it."
